The national holiday will be moved to January 1st, commemorating the Federation of Australia in 1901. This “Federation Day” will replace Bob Hawke's "National" January 26th date and celebrate Australia’s constitutional heritage and sovereignty.

States retain the right to celebrate their own founding dates, as well as celebrate the date of the 26th if their constituents wish, but these should be state- or locality-driven as part of a broader policy to encourage culture within states and local communities.

This is to ensure that a Federal Government remains guided by the Principles of its founding, and gives the States & Local communities more freedom and control over culture, ensuring diversity. Funding & grants can be organised for all aforementioned occasions. Local organisations will be preferred for these in order to drive high-trust tight-knit cohesive communities, provided the events are open to the public.
